Welcome to our website from Chris

Hello and welcome to the website of the Church of England Benefice of St. Anne with St. Paul & St. Augustine, in the West End of Leicester! We cover the area of Newfoundpool, the St. Paul’s area around Kirby Road and Western Park.


My name is Canon Chris Oxley and I lead a team of lay and ordained ministers and we are based at St. Anne’s on Letchworth Road and St. Paul’s Worship Centre on Kirby Road. At both these places there is worship on Sundays and midweek and both places host a wide range of social and community activities in our church halls… you will find these details elsewhere on this website. We are always delighted to welcome people for christenings, weddings and special occasions and provide funeral services and support for local people.


Our congregations are a good mix of young and old and of people from all sorts of backgrounds and we are able to offer a rich variety of styles of worship, ranging from traditional to contemporary. Most people who worship with us live locally, but everyone is welcome. During the past five years the two churches have developed their shared life and mission and service to the community and that is now well-established.
